We provide companies across Upstate New York with both fully-insured and self insured plans.
With a self insured plan, an employer assumes the financial risk for providing benefit plans. This arrangement can provide an employer with greater flexibility in designing a custom plan to fit their employees’ needs and company budget. In order to comply with New York State law, employers are required to provide disability coverage to employees unable to work due to off-the-job injuries or illness. ComTon Inc. has extensive experience in helping employers determine what type of plan matches their needs, while still meeting state standards and regulations. We are committed to keeping you and your employees protected.
New York’s Paid Family Leave program provides wage replacement to employees to help them bond with a child, care for a close relative with a serious health condition, or help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service. Employees are also guaranteed to be able to return to their job and continue their health insurance.
For self-insured dental plans, the employer accepts all of the risks, and pays for claims costs as they occur. Our team will work with you to determine how a self-insured plan can meet your company’s needs and budget. We provide a comprehensive range of services including: enrollment meetings, network access, claims processing, and will communicate with you to ensure claims are paid fast. We will provide you with all plan documents, as well as utilization reports.
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) provides employees with a special account which can be used to pay out of pocket health care costs. Possible uses for FSA funds are deductibles, prescriptions, copayments and more. This type of account creates tax savings for employees, as the amount contributed is deducted before income taxes. Depending on the plan, individuals can use flexible spending funds through a special debit card or by submitting receipts and documentation for reimbursement. Our team will work with you to make sure you are receiving the most out of your FSA.
A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) or health reimbursement account allows employers to help defray some out of pocket employee healthcare costs. This type of account is employer-funded, and IRS-approved. It allows for flexibility and employer choice for reimbursements. It reimburses employees for out-of-pocket medical expenses. It is a supplement to health insurance, and can help bridge the gap between what is covered by insurance and what is considered out-of-pocket.
